I am switching over from another cad package for schematic and pcb layout and would like to set up 'hot' keys. An example of something simple is to just Zoom In or Out with one key stroke. Sure you can use the F11 & F12 key which being across the keyboard is in a terrible location. I would like to simply hit one key such as the Z for zoom in and the A for zoom out.
I have been able to program single letter hot keys in cad programs for the past 25+ years from lowly DOS to Windows 7 so this is nothing new to the industry.
In allegro design entry you can go to customize and change things but it appears that I am stuck either reaching across the keyboard or having to hold down ctrl or alt and push a key at the same time?
