Old PADS PCB Files into OrCAD Layout 16.0

I am trying to get an old PCB design created in PADS v3.5 into my ancient OrCAD Layout 16.0. However, Layout 16.0 can only import PADS ASCII files for PADS v2.1 and below.

I tried just changing the version number in the ASCII file, but no luck. I tried changing the lines in the ASCII file that cause the Layout importer to throw errors, but still no luck.

Does anyone have:

1. an example PADS v2.1 ASCII file that I could use as sort of a template for getting my v3.5 file to work?

2. any work-arounds/suggestions? I'm looking for any kind of translation path that will get me a *.max file. I also have the Gerber files and the *.pcb file for the board.
