Footprint creation manually the refdes will get updated automatically?

Hi. I had small doubt in the footprint creation, i had tried to create the SMD Resistor footprint (SMR0805).In that, what should be the Refdes text should be entered. (i.e)., i should give text as R* or & Comp. In case i give values as R* or & Comp means, the netlist updation form the schematic to PCB editor the refdes values will be get automatically updates or not??I had attached the image with this post. After i creating the component package height is also not get extruded at option of place bound top. In earlier the Layout projects, the corresponding supplied footprint libraries used. After updating the netlist capture to layout, the refdes will get updated automatically. Can any one solve this problem? Thanks & Regards Dhamodharan
