Hi all,
I am creating a number of symbol parts recently and trying to put it all in one server so that everyone can refer to the same library path, but I am now having problem with the library created.
I created 2 schematics to test the library:
1) all component library are saved under "worklib" folder
This shows that the library do not have any problem.
2) All components library are saved under another folder outside of "worklib" folder, called "lib_for_all",
Do anyone have any idea?
Thanks in advance!
I know I had read about the ability to refresh the refdes of a single part but for the life of me I cannot find it.
How do I do this?
Thanks
I have set up the BB via for ELIC design, but when I select the working layers, i can't creat the stacked via but staggered via, i attached the picture here.
Someone can help me to fix this problem? I am thinking one setting has problem.
The picture, i want to set the stacked via L10-L7, but i failed. Thanks,
Dear All,
I am trying to create a foot-print of a device. The .dxf file is given.
I am importing the .dxf file. But the imported output is not getting aligned to the GRID points.
I have attached the .dxf file. You may have a look at it.
Could anybody please tell how it can be done so that drawing edges will align to the grid points.
Kind Regards,
I want to add, or really append, a new menu item to the Allgro PCB Editor menu. What is the easiest way to handle this without having to modify the installed menu? Maybe someone has an example that I could follow?
Hello all,
I am trying to group some lines in an OrCAD Capture CIS schematic, and nothing I do will activate the "group" or "ungroup" commands under Edit. I understand from the User Guide that it will not allow you to group objects that include a net alias, but these objects are all just lines and rectangles (NOT wires). Has anyone else encountered this?
Thanks!
Hi,
I'm new to Orcad PCB editior. How to change the origin point of the component footprint from the 1st pin (already available footprint in library) to centre of the component.
Thanks in advance.
HI, I get the below error when I try to initiate SKILL from Comman prompt of Allegro Free Physical Viewers 16.6. Is SKILL supported in Allegro Free Physical Viewers 16.6?
Command > skill
E- Command not found: skill
If SKILL is not supported in Allegro Free Physical Viewers 16.6, can you please direct me on free product that supports SKILL Language.
Gents,
I might be missing something painfully obvious but if you refer to the atached pict, I need to make a PLACE_TOP_BOUNDARY and I need to hold to it's shape. I started out by putting in rectangle which was okay, It's the arc that's killing me. My plan was to build a shape with the arc component and then merge the resulting shapes and live happily ever after. Why can't I create a filled shape? See attached..

Dear All,
I created a non-plated Via with pad size smaller than the Drill hole size to make a mechanical hole on the PCB.
I instantiated the PIN in the Symbol designer as a Mechanical PIN.
But I am seeing a bigger circle around this PIN ( attached is the snapshot of the PIN.
What is the use of this circle ?
Is it a Place_bound circle ? Can I ingnore it ?
How I can change its diameter or delete it ?
Kind Regards,
Hi All,
How to convert already done 45 angle routing in to arc with minimal effort?
Is there any direct option to change or we need to cut & reroute that portion please suggest ......

To whom it may concern at the Cadence PCB Editor development center:
Why are the "polarity" signs such as "+" or "-" so infernally small compared
to the size of the letters? For instance: If I want to put some text on the silkscreen
next to a screw terminal and write "+24V Input" and have a size limitation
of say 2mm text hight, the + sign becomes so small that it can hardly be interpreted
on the board. Whenever I have to add such information, I have to make up the signs by adding separate
lines and match their width to the photoplot width of the text block size.
Please add this to the ToDo-list: Make the special characters bigger!
No: I do not whish to purchase any add-on feature. This should come
with the baseline package.
I just upgraded from allegro_free_viewer_16-5 to allegro_free_viewer_16-6. Right after the upgrade it worked fine but today I keep getting the message
This application has failed to start because callbackMgr.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the viewer but same results.
I did a regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Cadence Design Systems\Allegro Free Physical Viewers 16.6\tools\pcb\bin\callbackMgr.dll" to register the dll but I get "Dll_Name was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer or DllUnregisterServer entry point was not found."
I am looking for suggestions for a naming convention for multi-drill padstacks that somewhat falls in line with IPC-7X51 Padstack Naming Convention.

I have used OrCAD Layout and in process of converting over to PCB Editor. In process of creating padstacks and having saved some I wanted to rename them, so I opened them in padstack designer then resaved them with the new names. My question is can I go into the file directory where they were saved and delete the old ones without creating a problem?
