Is there a way to control the find filter so that only the items I want stay on until I change them. It seems the filter has a mind of it's own. Way too many clicks.

Hi.
I've tryed alot of differnet things, but does not seem to find a way to do what I want.
I'm working on a multi sheet schematic which someone else have done and there is two GND nets (GND & GND_Analog) but both using the same GND symbol without displaying the names.

I would like to display the names on all GND_Analog symbols, and there is defenetely to many to do that one by one.

Thanks

What's up with SPB172? Base release has been available for almost 3 weeks. Haven't received an updated license file, can't order new license file. New license manager required to run 172 but documentation is incomplete as to whether or not you can run back versions on the new license manager.

Automatically setup property editor's filters

Hi,

In the property editor you can choose to filter the objects in a schematic using the "Filter by" drop down menu. You can create your own by right clicking on a column header > Filters > Add Filter..., then manually hide all unwanted properties.

Instead of every user doing that manually and updating when changes are made, can filters be setup automatically using Capture.INI or some other setup file?

Thanks,

Aric

pin2pin spacing error after symbol rotation

Hi,

I am using OrCAD 17. I have  defined pin to pin constraint in a way that my symbols don't have any DRC errors. However, if I rotate my symbol I will receive pin to pin spacing error? I am wondering why this happens. Below picture shows those components - symbols -

I would appreciate any help.

Capture CIS Variants - Custom titleblock properties

Is it possible to have different title block properties displayed when different CIS variants of a schematic are viewed in variant mode?  My title block displays properties such as document number and PCB assembly part number that depend on the variant.  I would like to be able to print different variants of the schematic and have the title block information update automatically.  I know you can include the variant name in the titleblock, but I'd like to be able to set multiple (other) existing properties.

Clearance issue

Hi,

I'm using PCB Editor 16.6 but I'm not getting clearance between the the unconnected net and the copper area. I've tried setting the spacing using constraint manager as well as Global dynamic shape parameters. I was getting spacing between unconnected nets for another PCB for same settings. Could you please advice what additional settings should I check?

Thanks !

Capture CIS part quantity and Item number control.

Looking for a way to control the quantity column in Capture CIS 16.6.  We have expense items like Schematics and Manufacturing Procedures which have a quantity of zero on the bill of materials.  I have created parts that I place on the schematic page and they show up on the bill of materials, but they show up as a quantity of one and must be edited once the BOM is placed in our database.  The "Not Installed Component" option places a zero in the bill of materials, but part number and value are missing? Having an option to list non-stuffed components with a quantity of zero would be a great feature!

Thanks,

Zardoz

See attached.  Any ideas on why the plane clearance is square on some pads and round on others?  I checked the pad stacks and they are all square.  The DRCs are on two difference inner planes.

Terminating net on pin

Hello,

I would like to know if there's any option to see a junction point when terminating a net on a pin of a part.

In older versions of Orcad it was done by default, but for what I see in Capture 16 it's only done when THREE nets are terminated on a pin, but not when only two nets are terminated on the pin. You can't place a junction point manually there neither.

Something related with this is shown as a plus in the Capture Cis technical Brief:

CONNECTIVITY RESOLUTION

  • Get visual confirmation when terminating nets on pins
  • Automatically create or delete junction points using manual override

Thank you in advance.

How to hide power pins in homogeneous parts?

$

I'm placing a quad op-amp which is made up from 4 different symbols UxA to UxD with different pin numbers for the inputs and outputs, power pins are the same in all symbols. I would like to keep the power pins only in UxA and hide them on the other symbols. If I try to edit the schematic symbol by right click --> edit part and make the pins invisible in one part of the symbol, all other parts will reflect this change as well.

For example, if I go to UxB and select zero length for the pin + remove the check from 'visible' - I won't be able to see the power pin at any UxA - UxD.

How can I keep the power pins on the UxA only? Thanks!
