How to convert a circuit into a single ic/part in orcad pspice

Is there a way to set the default grid setttings and other Design Parameters?

Because of now every time I create a new symbol I have to go to Setup->Design Parameters and then set the grid settings.

Minimum Blind/Buried Via Gap (L1-L2 and L11-L12)

I have a design with one buried via L2-L11 and two micro vias (L1-L2 and L11-L12). I do not want my microvias overlapping the buried via, but I don't care if the top and bottom micro-vias overlap for obvious reasons. 

Is there any way to relay this information to Allegro so I can get rid of the 500 DRCs? Or am I just stuck with waiving them manually?

OrCAD simulation - Propagation delay of CMOS inverter

I need to get the characteristics of dynamic parameters of CMOS inverter (tplh,tphl,tp) and measure them from the graph.

Inverter is induced by square pulse generator with frequency 200kHz and fill factor of 20%.

Inverter is loaded with capacitance 100pF.

Questions:


I have drawn the schematics, but don't know how to set parameters of VPULSE generator properly (I set V1=0, V2=5, PW=0.2, PER=0.000005).

Also, how to set simulation profile?

In DC sweep, I set voltage source V3 as a sweep variable and also include time domain (transient).

How to get UDD=f(t) characteristics and measure dynamic parameters of CMOS inverter?

 

unexpected dialogue box appear while simulation in pspice.

I've been looking and can't find a "Getting Started" guide. Particularly, I'm looking for how I can set up, edit a use footprint libraries. I was able to find the library tool for Capture, but not for PCB Editor. I'm using Allegro 17.

Example#1:

If power pin (Eg. GND1) connected to different GND net (Eg. AGND) then I'm getting below Question in DRC Check,

Expectation based on Example#1:

but if the Power Pin (Eg. GND1) mistakenly connected to different signal Net (Eg. ENABLE) instead of power Net, why not the tool (Allegro Design Entry 16.6) show similar question !!??

Is there any option to find & fix this mistaken connection on the DRC checking ??!! (I think one option is to configure ERC matrix but would like to know is there any other option!!)

Breaking up large pin count connectors

Hello,

I am looking for a better way yo place large pin count connectors in capture.  Presently I have always make a multi package part with the pins grouped in some way.  This works OK, but sometimes the schematics would be more readable if I could arrange the pins differently, and I would prefer to not have to recreate new parts for each different arrangement.  Is there a way to create a parts where each pin is a separate item that can me placed and moved as a single unit, and I can then just arrange the any way I wanted to? Even be able to have them in different locations on the sheet?

I create my footprints in PCB Libraries footprint editor. I creates a subdirectory for each of my footprints. I have to copy the  .DRA .PSM .TXT and .pad files from the subdirectories to the main directory. Is ther a way to have the software look in the library directory and all subdirectories ?

Hi all,

I am trying to use CapLibPropUtil.tcl script in the tools/capture/tcl folder. But the parameters are vague. In the add property command the parameter "Olb path" is ok. But what is the "log file path"and "force" parameters..????.

And also i tried to read the script andtcl guide but i didnt understand the concept. Can any also tell me what this command means

"Set lstatus [Dbostate]"  Dbostate means?.

17.2 alias key problems

In Version 17.2 my alias keys do not work until is use the middle mouse button to scroll. Once I move the mouse then my page-up and page-dwm keys zoom in and out. Is there a fix for this ?
