Hello
We have some solder pads on our PCB that has no step file associated because they are simply just pads. How do we prevent OrCAD from adding black boxes with the default comp height on the footprint in the 3D viewer?

I am using OrCAD Capture 17.2 H051.
I want to add some of the attributes to the BOM header and export the header as a template and use it on other system/ for the next time (refer attachment)
I dont want to add the attribute to BOM header each and every time. Is there any solution available to this issue ?
.
I used orcad 16.5 to design the schematic but when I copy the project to other computer ( orcad 16.5 too), I face to this problem. all the components in schematic are loss like the picture attach. I try it with other 2 PC, one is ok but one is have same problem. anyone face to this problem please help me.
In the allegro17.2 hotfix 051 environment, the buttons on the footprint viewer of OrCAD capture (zoom in, zoom out, zoom fit) do not work.
Hi all, can you help me, I want to export attachment like "Color Layer" using axlCreateAttachment but the file i want to use is in xml. I tried some solutions but it doesnt work. Does annybody know how to do it?
Im using Allegro PCB editor.
Up until recently I've been able to select a symbol for placement edit and OrCAD would automatically snap to the symbol origin for the point to move. Now, however, lately I've noticed that when I perform the same task wherever I click within the symbol is where the symbol is moved from. It no longer snaps to the symbol origin, which for me is the symbol center. I've tried using Persistent Snap and click on Snap to Symbol Origin, but I get the following error in the command window Could not satisfy the snap condition using 'Symbol Origin' mode.
Could someone help me discern why this has changed and is there a way to change it back so that I can move a symbol based on the symbol's origin? Thank you.

Hello,
Can someone let me know the latest version of hot fix for 17.2 ?
thank you
Hi guys!!
I'm trying to design a RF distribution for my wireless receivers.
I'm a sound recordist working in TV, so I have to deal with wireless microphones daily.
Basically the setup I would like to have is 2 dipole antennae connected to my 2 wireless microphone receivers.
I am working in UHF band, 470 to 600MHz.
I am using mini-circuits components, SMD, and the distribution has to fit in a tiny 3cmX3cmX1cm.
I am a sound engineer, I have very limited knowledge in RF and analog circuits. I try to read and watch tutorials, but I get lost very quickly as I don't speak the basics of this language. In theory, the circuit is suppose to work. The problem is when I look a the schematic of the components (Balun and Splitter), I don't understand which how to connect every thing together, as I am not able to read the schematic.
So, it would go like this ;
Path ; Dipole antenna -> Balun -> 2 way Power Splitter - 2X female SMAs output -> wireless receivers.
The question ; I know this is elementary school for most of you, I just need someone to point me out which pins to connect where. Like the actual circuit path.
I got myself a mini-circuit 1:1 transformer and a 2 way power splitter. I am good at soldering, but I just don't know technically how to connect everything.
Here is my thinking, please tell me where I am wrong;
So we start with the 2 Dipole elements, one goes in the Primary of the balun, the other one goes in the secondary.
At the other side of the balun, Primary Dot becomes my main "signal", Secondary Dot connects to ground of the hole circuit.
Then my main signal enters the "S" port of the splitter, and the splitter is attached to ground that carries the signal from the other sides of the dipole (?)
Then at the exit of the Splitter, I attach 2 SMAs, that are grounded as well.
Here below the schematic of my 2 units.

Hi all,
when I select "DISPLAY --> 3D VIEW" I receive in the command window the message:
Command not found: 3d viewer
How can I check to solve this error?
Version: 17.2-2016 S051
OS: Windows 7 - 64bit
Thank you
I have my etch layout set for 45 degrees so the majority are 45 degree turns other than sharper ones or the routes through the a cpu socket. I am looking for 90 degree turns as a lot of my traces have high frequency on them. Ideally a report like the dangling lines and vias would be ideal.
The request is to review manual routing, auto router solution is linked here (https://community.cadence.com/cadence_technology_forums/f/pcb-design/7141/urgent-angled-routing-using-allegro)
Folks,
Everything working fine, but when I use the Find function in an OrCAD schematic capture session, the Find window come up OK, but it sometimes comes up with the part I was looking for, but the window is frozen in the middle of my schematic window. I can continue to "find" things using the Find function, but the Find window cannot be moved out of the way and the title bar on the top of the Find window is missing. Finally, the only way to get the Find function out of the schematic window is to completely close the OrCAD session and restart.
I have had this issue before, but it seems more pronounced now with ISR 051 than previous ISRs.
Thoughts??
Chris
Hi -
I have a problem stemming from being new to PCB editor. I have a board outline that somehow had a default package keepin identical to the board outline. I want to use the Z copy/contract function, but get the message that there is already a package keepin present. So I try to figure out how to delete the existing boundary, and get the message that I can't delete that kind of object.
I'm stuck here, and I'm sure there should be a simple fix. How do I either delete the existing keepin that I don't want, or overwrite it with the keepin definition that I *do* want?
Thanks.
I am working with Concept Entry HDL and with a project that has about 100 pages of different schematics.
I am make it easier to understand the sue of each schematic and want to create small sub-groups under which I can add some pages so they can be identified easier.
Is there a way to do that ?
hi,

earlier in previous releases of 49 we had backdrilling max pth stub option but its not seen now in the pcb editor please help .

Anyone can send me the 6 to 12 layers pcb file to learn? and one example file of RF pcb file. Thanks. My email : mafzal62@btopenworld.com
Hello everyone.
I am using software as in topic in version 16.6.
Today during normal work artwork button stopped working.
Window to set and generate artworks do not appear on the screen. I know that the button works, in the left down corner (actual command in written) I can see that ARTWORK command is active.
Is here someone who can help me?
I am using windows 10, I have tried to reinstall software and it do not help. All other functions and pop up windows work fine.
Thank in advance.

netlist output file are not seen in the output folder in capture UI, but are generated successfully and in the folder location I can see those 3 .dat files
but in capture UI I am unable to see in the output folder but if I generate BOM and DRC are shown in the output folder
how to resolve

I am working on making a standard library of passive symbols which will contain a number of attributes some of which will map to an Allegro Footprint.
Over on the schematic I have about 5 attributes such as PN= , Description =, etc but I have many symbols to update and or create new.
My basic question is how can I automate the addition of a standard set of symbol attributes to each symbol without having to type each one in, one at a time.
Thanks.
