Netgroup porrt color

Hi everyone, I would like to ask you for advice with a little issue. I would like to change Capture to "dark theme". I use hierachical design, Orcad Capture 16.6-S086. When I changed background to black I've lost netgroup hiearichical port because it is black too. Can I change netgroup hierachical port color? There is no option for it in menu "Option->Preferences->Color/Print". Option "Hierachical Port" in the mentioned menu doesn't affect netgroup hierachical port. There are pictures for ilustration below. Thanks for hint.

Impossible to start SPB 17.2 on Win10x64, error 0x000007B

Hello,

I'm trying to launch spb17.2 on Win10x64, but I have error 0x000007B when I start Projet Manager or others software link to spb.

I have install the hotfix_spb17.20.070 and Microsoft visualbasic 2012.

Previously I have some errors with 4 .dll files, I uninstall and re-install everthing, but no way ....

Do you have a idea to solve my problem ?

Schematics PDF Output Color

Hi

I am trying to convert schematics into pdf file. The color i am seeing in the Schematics File(.dsn) is different from the one i am getting in pdf. 

In the pdf i am getting all (components, heirarichal blocks in orange color) while in Prefernces--> Color Window file i have given different colors to them.

3D. Board not visible

Hello everybody,

I have a problem by using of 3D canvas. I can see the components only, but not the PCB self. In the visibility windows all  is checked. Are any variables must be set in the User Preferences? I am using 17.4 with HotFix 10. Every body know this issue?

Allegro net connect geometry not fully continuous line at 45 degree turns

In Allegro 17.2, when I add connects and make 45 degree turns, they appear as partially touching rectangles, not a joining continuous line. How do I improve this?

17.4 License Manager question

Now have two distinct licenses: one is HOSTID based (MAC address) the other is the old FlexLM key

For some reason after installing 17.4 using the MAC license, that license manager is set up to run after reboot which I don't want.  I have to use the FlexLM tools to shut it off to activate the dongle based license.

I can't find where this is starting.  I would rather choose which service I want.  Just trying to figure out where the settings are that are kicking this license manager off after reboot....ideas?

Anti-copper

I'm trying to introduce an anti-copper region in a copper plane, but it doesn't work. 

I see the obstacle in the design window, it is an anti-copper obstacle in the right plane, but 

ir doesn't appear in the gerber files. It is Orcad 9.

Anyone could help me?

allegro 17.2 temporarily highlight all nets connected

Hello,

While I am routing, Is there an efficient way to temporarily highlight all members of a net and stop it when I am done? So far, I just press the paintbrush icon (assign color) and hover. The thing is, when I continue routing, I am no longer hovering so the highlighting goes away.

Impossible to import constraints file with 17.4

Hi all,

I try to export-import design constraints file.

Export goes well.

When I try to import I get:

Error: schemaLocation does not contain namespace-location pairs (l:2; c:92)
             Section read operation aborted

What's wrong?

Error "SPDWUB-6:Part Information Manager cannot connect to following servers xxxx " In 17.4 HF009

I got the error when clicking "Component Browser", checked server is running up in 7100. also able to telnet to the server on 7100,  did some search, this "SPDWUB-6" looks for SSL-enabled server configuration, but our SSL is not enabled. Does this error mean SSL need be enabled or something else?  What can I do to fix the issue?

Placing from Capture 17.4-010

Hello,

I tried to place components from Capture in to the Orcad PCB Designer, but it does't work. I have activate the interactive option. It brings an error :

Error: No Placement Grid was found
ERROR(SPMHGE-458): Error see the message(s) above.

What I should do for the placing from capture?

Differences in STEP out from Allegro vs from 3D Viewer

We're all pretty disgusted with the 3D model handling *still* from Allegro.  If we export from within Allegro, we get a decent model minus layers such as soldermask and silk.

If we export from within the 3D viewer our exports expand hugely (example: Allegro generates a 7.5MB file, 3D viewer is 55MB).  But the STEP from the 3D is poor quality and the models break half the time even tho they work fine from Allegro.


So, just curious, what's been your experience with exporting a *beautiful* STEP that works and looks realistic?

Getting error to open the Capture.exe after updating the hotfix, try to change the system variables and user variables for "PATH", still doesn't work. Please help.

3D drill size ?

When I measure the finished hole diameter in the 3D the software starts with the finished hole size and then adds the layer thickness to the hole. So for example a 40 mil finished hole with 1 OZ Copper plus plating ends up a 34.8 mil hole.

The value for the drill is the finished hole size , not the starting hole size before plating. Usually the plating process only adds 1.4 . 

Is this just a bug or is there a way to fix this ?

TCL script for Workflows in System Capture

I am in the process of transferring our workflow that we have in Flow Manager and putting them into the in-Design Workflows inside System Capture.  I am running into a knowledge gap for writing tcl scripts to perform the tasks that I have in Flow Manger.  An example would be a button that opens windows explorer to the location of the project .cpm file.  

Pre exec command

cd ${ATDM_PROJECT_DIR}

exec command

openfile -fileexplore

This is what is in Flow Manager.  I am needing help with a tcl script that I can call out in a workflow that does the same thing.

I have been struggled for some time trying to create XNET, no matter how many times I tried the video from Youtube, The XNET property can not be created in my program? Does anyone have similar problem?

PCB Editor 17.4, no XNETs after model assignment

Hello,

I have created a schematic in Capture 17.4 and successfully created a netlist then imported into PCB Editor 17.4 and placed all components. I want to create constraints using Constraint Manager but am having a problem with XNETs. Many of the constraints will be relative prop delay for signals which start at a connector, pass through a resistor then end at an IC. The rats all looked as expected so I think the schematic is correct. When I opened CM it showed a lot of XNETs but each XNET only had one net (the one from resistor to IC). I realized that the resistors did not have models assigned, so I created and assigned a model to all of them (used standard 2-pin model with 0.001 ohm value). After doing that and opening CM again the XNETs had changed to NETs and there were no XNETs. I tried importing again after assigning models but nothing changed.

[Q] Why are nets shown as XNETs after the initial import when no models are assigned?

[Q] Why do I not see XNETs after assigning resistor models in PCB Editor?

possible to add other reports to "Status" report?

One report that I occasionally forget to run is the "single-pin net report". The times I forget it is when I should have. I'd like to add that to the reports automatically run during "status". Is it possible to modify this or is there some other way folks do it so they don't forget?
